Mason Jar Vase

I noticed my go-to brand of premade spaghetti sauce comes in a mason jar. Mason jars have been popular for meals-in-jar, crafts and other projects that have gone viral on Pinterest.

Since we had pasta this last week, I had a jar and a desire to craft! What I came up with was a colorful vase ready for fresh cut flowers from the garden. If it's not filled, the painted and embellished Mason jar still looks beautiful!

The flower embellishments were made from cardstock and dipped in Wow embossing powders to add some shine and texture.

 I also made one small rose by heating "Melt It" with yellow embossing powder and pouring it into a silicone mold. 

I love how this upcycled vase will always have flowers!

WOW Garden Markers

Hi this is Jenifer here with you today to share a simple project to help label the plants growing in your garden.  All you need is some flat rocks, Wow embossing powder and a Wow embossing pen.

How cute are these?  And they are super easy :)

Please note that it did take a bit longer to heat the embossing powder on the rocks, but you will know when it is ready to go because the powder turns bright white.  Enjoy and beautify those rocks.

Make A Wish

I wanted to create a Birthday card, but wanted a little dimension on it. So I pulled out my WOW powders, a stamp set, some blooms, chippies and pop dots! I found some scrap Websters Pages papers that would work and got busy!

Here is the finished card:

I used the Suzy West "Make a Wish" stamp set, along with the Suzy West Sour Lemon regular, Bubble Gum regular, and Opaque Bright White regular embossing powders. I used the Sour Lemon and the "Make A Wish" sentiment  stamp around the edge of the base. I also embossed the chipboard scallop border with it. I used the Opaque Bright white in the center. The flourish is done with the Bubble Gum.

I used a generic leaf stamp and made some tiny leaves to go with the little blooms. The bling accent is from Websters Pages. As well as the little cake.

Here you see the pink flourish behind the blooms. I added liquid pearl accents to the banner and used pop dots for dimension.

You are Loved Canvas

Hi this is Jenifer here with you today to share a canvas that I made for a very dear friend of mine who is going through a lot.  I can't wait to give it to her.

I took a 8x10 canvas and drew a heart in the middle of the page.  With the WoW embossing pen I then went around the heart a few times and applied Angel Wings embossing glitter which gave me a beautiful place to start.  Apply the texture, I inserted my title before the texture was dry to help keep it in place.

I tore up tiny scraps of paper in reds and pinks to give the heart a mosaic effect.  I hand cut the wings and applied Neutral Shimmer embossing glitter over them to make them sparkle.  Lastly I added the flowers.

Elegant Wooden Frame in Less than an Hour

It's THAT time of year when every moment seems filled with the kids' activities (more so than the others times of the year).

In addition to working full time, managing to keep the house in some order and hustling kids to and from school and practices, I am attempting to capture some milestones for both the kids. My oldest has turned 16 and the younger will be 13 in a few weeks. In the days between these birthdays we also have a Sacramental milestone. I said it was busy. I'm sure MANY of you out there feel the same time crunch and wonder how you can ever get a moment to "scrap" or create.

I feel the need to take a few moments to contemplate the momentous occasions and make something to share with my sons. Here's what I did with WOW in just about an hour. I think you can embellish something nice as well in a quick minute.

With a couple wooden elements from the craft store painted in school colors, I assembled a wooden frame. I selected two wooden embellishments, a cross and dove, to finish the frame.

I used a bottle of embossing liquid or "ink" new from Ranger and covered both pieces evenly with the dauber on the bottle. Then I heat embossed Sierra Sunrise embossing powder on the Cross and Vodka Sparkle from the limited edition, Girls Night Out Collection (Silver, 2013 New Release) on the Dove. They were adhered to the bottom right of the frame.

Finally, I cut a scroll from white card stock (die from Verve) and stamped the sentiment from Everyday Sentiments in Ebony embossing powder. Regular gold embossing was used around the scroll edge.

The photo shown is a placeholder for what will eventually be my older son's Confirmation photo and a letter tucked in the back.

It just took me an hour to put this together, but I love the end result and will be happy to display this prominently. I am so satisfied when I can complete a beautiful and easily executed project!

Hi everyone and thanks for stopping by the WOW! blog today. Today I am going to share with you my very first canvas project ever. I have been seeing tons of these lately and finally decided to give one a try!!

Our oldest God Daughter had her first child on Easter Sunday and I made this for her and her husband to hang in their house (if they like it....). So I started off with a plain white 5x7 canvas. I took a few sheets of some older Basic Grey paper that I had laying around and torn them into strips. Using Mod Podge glue I layered the paper strips onto the canvas. Next I took gesso and painted it on top of the paper strips. I sprayed the gesso with water to thin it down so the paper could show through more. Once that was dried I used my embossing stamp pad and inked the entire canvas. I then covered it with Neutral Ultra Shimmer Embossing Powder. After heat setting the powder I then took the heart boarder stamp from the Gratitude Stamp set and randomly stamped the hearts on the canvas using the Jet Black StazOn ink pad.

I just love how the whole thing just sparkles from using the Neutral Ultra Shimmer on top of the background paper. After that I just added some embellishments and a picture of their precious new little boy and it was done! I can't wait to give it to them. Now I am on the hunt for a good shadow box frame to put it in.
